SCCAC Launch Media Release

CROSS-SECTOR ASSOCIATION GROUP LAUNCHES CAREERS IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN WEBSITE

In a cross-sector show of cooperation and commitment to promoting the profession, the Supply Chain Career Awareness Collaborative (SCCAC) – a group of 15 supply chain-focused associations, of which the Purchasing Management Association of Canada is a member – has come together to launch Careers in the Supply Chain.

The new web portal, which debuted on February 28th, is designed to increase awareness of career pathways in the supply chain and position the supply chain as a profession of choice.

With more than 350,000 jobs expected to come on line in the next five years, Canada’s supply chain is a hotbed of employment activity. To address impending labour shortages and educate job seekers, the Careers in the Supply Chain website connects visitors to educational and training opportunities available to those interested in pursuing or advancing a career in supply chain or public procurement.

The Purchasing Management Association of Canada played a leading role in the development of the Careers in the Supply Chain website, including collecting and coordinating content, conducting research, and creating and hosting the website.

“The skills of a supply chain professional are transferable across all sectors, industries and countries,” noted  SCCAC spokesperson Cori Ferguson. “As stakeholders we want to ensure those who are unemployed, under-employed, or looking to make a career transition understand the opportunities available to them and have access to the resources necessary to advance their supply chain career.”

Members are encouraged to visit the website and spread the word to friends and colleagues looking for a fast-paced, rewarding career in the supply chain.
